Dream a little dream...

Everyone knows I can get quite carried away with things when I get on a roll...well, here I go again. Simply put; this is my dream - what would happen if money was no object and maybe even if it is...

I want to open a store...Family run and full of fun! I want it to be a book store/coffee shop/ comedy club. I want to have my Mom run the coffee shop because who knows and loves a good cup of coffee more than my mother??? We could sell scones and muffins that we could make at home too. The book store would be a Joey and Barb joint venture...Order the coolest of the cool books and have the info to tell our customers all about the best ones! The comedy club would be my baby. With different nights designated for different types of comedy relief. Stand up, improv, spoken word, poetry, and an afternoon for different children's performances. What would a child love more than to have an actual stage to shine on? They could do whatever they had been practicing - juggling- joke telling - reading a story- or whatever it may be within reason. Kira could paint faces on these days!
Step number two comes after our store is successful and we have money in our pockets to change the world...stay with me here!...
Now we take our profits from the store and we buy a large chunk of fertile NH land, hire the family members of the Jamaicans that work the apple orchards and put a big house on the property for them to live in. Why Jamaicans you ask??? I knew you would. Because they are from tropical climate where you can grow ANYTHING, and they are usually very mellow people, if you know what I mean, so no drama! What would they be farming you ask...I was ready for that too... Soy Beans. Yes - Soy Beans. Why??? To make the Biodiesel of course! Didn't you know we'd boughten a Gas Station in the busiest part of Manchester to sell our clean running, more miles to the gallon, good for the environment and economically friendly fuel? Well, we did! Heather's Teddy can rock out that part of our business! I also need Heather and Kira to help me decorate the store...it HAS to look hot!

So, there you have it...my dream - anyone in?

Mother's Day...

I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers that I know. Thank you Mom, for understanding me when no one else does and for teaching me all that you have and still continue to! I want to say to my sister, Anne, that I am proud of you! You work so hard and are learning as you go, as we all are, and your children are amazing. They know love and that is the most important thing in the world. I want to thank Nan and Grampy for having four wonderful daughters and for making being a woman in your family so special! Thank you Dave for being such a Feminist! I love the matriarchal feeling in your family - that women and mothers are special, the thinking that our children make us shine even more than we alredy do is beautiful. I know nothing makes me happier than when my children laugh, and I know you all feel the same. To Kira and Heather - CONGRATULATIONS! I feel so strongly that you both will be amazing mothers! Isn't the cycle of life amazing? I know I'm not the wisest woman by any means, but to look at my daughter and see my mothers eyes and Barbra's ankles and my smile, you will see in your child beauty you never saw in yourself. I feel blessed to know the Mothers I know, with heart and energy (most of the time), and passion for their children that never sleeps. Mom, Nan, Barb, Lori, Joey, Jenny, Anne, and my friends who are amazing mothers...Paula, Kim, Tonya - just to name a few, and to our mothers to be, Heather and Kira. I love you all and wish I could send diamonds to every one of you!!!
Happy Mother's Day!

Henna Tattoos...

I was feeling experimental sunday, so I broke out my Henna tattoo kit. Unfortunately the henna is old so it didn't stain as well as I'd hoped but it was fun. Even Izaak got in on it! It is very hard to control the pressure of what you are applying and you have to squeeze the bag so hard your hand shakes! This is the henna drying, then you rub it off and the image is stained on your skin, it looks really nice when it is fresh henna and stains properly...I'll have to try again!
