The Museum...

Summer time is hard for a Mom. Being soley responsible for the cultural enrichment of approximately four children a day is no easy task. So we took an adventure into an unknown realm....the Museum! I had heard the Walter's Art Museum in Baltimore was great for kids...so I packed up Kaleb, Madison (whom I stole from NY for a chunk of the summer), and Aliza and went!
We took the Light Rail into Baltimore, it was Madison and Aliza's first time on a train like this! They thought is was pretty neat counting the stops untill ours came and watching the charactors on the train. Aliza was a little flipped by the man with the "ponie's like me!" ( pig tails). Did I mention it was hot?! Look at those faces...this after only crossing the street. I'm a brave soul...
After we got off the train it was only three blocks till we got to the Museum, not bad! Here are the kids infront of some ancient artwork!
The kids got to look at HUGE and colorful bugs from all over the world! They were so intruiged by how the magnifying glasses worked! We spent alot of time in this section!
We also saw Knight's armour and Mummies! This was quite the museum! Madison was ready to listen to all the descriptions of each exhibit and was amazed at the detailed artwork! She is an artist herself and was taking notes on the aspects of the ancient art she may be able to recreate! We sat in the Kings Hall for a friendly game of chess, which Madison taught me to play! That was a refreshing break from the "don't touch" mantra I had been chanting! She beat me of course...
On the walk back to the train we came acroos a large statue that was just right for a Gatorade break and a good climbing session! We had a good outing! Wonder what we'll do next week?.....

A Day at the Lake

We took a summer trip to Rome, NY and had an absolute blast spending a day at Lake Delta! I grew up at this lake and it felt good to pass down some Delta memories!

The kids couldn't wait to get into the water, which was much warmer than the air after a freak weather change! They all splashed and froliced and were quite dissappointed when it cam time to get out and eat!

Seth Lukas couldn't get enough of the waves splashing over him! It was quite a sight seeing him head into every wave that came his way, I can't believe he didn't pass out after this!

Look at Kaleb's face in this picture! It makes my laugh! He and Madison posing...too funny!
We took the kids on a scavenger hunt through the Delta Trails to find pinecones, feathers, sea shells, and well...dead fish - don't ask! I found a great fallen tree to line up our little ducks on...I think this came out cute! Smile Kaleb!!!

I turned around to find Kaleb, Aliza and Seth all focused on the ground with their shadows next to them. They were looking for a clam shell to add to their scavenger hunt bags...I love this picture! When our scavenger hunt was complete we headed back to our pic-nic sight to roast some mellows! This made Anne happy, very happy! LOL!
Look at this happy family! This picture only took 15 takes to get, and Kaleb's eyes are STILL closed! HAha! We had a great time!

Little Orphan Ali

As most to you know there is more that runs through myself and my daughter than the same blood and carrying the "Jane" throughout the bloodline, it's the love of "Annie"! For the past year or so Aliza has enjoyed the movie and music to Annie and mentions the movie all the time. Recently I found a locket that was age appropriate (which translates into:cheap, because inevitably it will be lost!). Aliza was so excited about this! Annie has a locket you know! So we came home and Momma found some pics that were small enough to put into her locket! I found that the index prints that come with each set of photos I have developed are amazing for this purpose, as they are tiny enough to fit into a locket but are also just as clear as there fully sized counter parts! Cha-ching! It was easy for Aliza to decide on who she would like featured in her locket...
Pop and 'Tildy...it's love!

Dental Care...

apparently we need some around here!!! Last night Daddy and Aliza got silly with some funny teeth. I thought they looked so funny I HAD to get my camera out and share!

A New Resident in Narleeville...

Some of you may know that Kaleb has been wanting a pet of his "own" for a long while now. After much research and thought we decided a rabbit would be right up his alley. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you, our new pet - Jake...
Jake is a 10 week old "lion maned" rabbit. He is very calm and sweet. He is already comfortable with dogs and has already developed quite a bond with Matilda...
Holy freaking CUTE! Right?! As you can imagine, Aliza and Izaak are also big fans of Jake and we are excited to welcome this new member of the family!
