First, Fourth and Frosh...

Well, school is back in swing and the kids were off for the first day! Big news around here! They like their teachers so far and Izaak is getting along in High School just fine. I guess all the butterflies I had for him were all for naught...thank goodness! Izaak's bus comes at 6:30 so I didn't get any pics before he got on the bus, not that he would have let me be out there with a camera...not with MY morning hair!

Aliza was very excited to go back to school this year! No worries and all of her best girlfriends are in her class! Lucky chic!Kaleb has his best friend in his class too! Boy these kids are lucky! They aren't even dreading Homework....yet!

I wish all three of you a great school year! Love you!

Our First Egg!

Organic, free range, nutricious and yes, you guessed it...delicious! Our first egg came on a Sunday a.m. and we couldn't have been more delighted! We'd known for a few weeks the chics were getting close to their first l lay...and low and behold!

I found it in the ivy by the front stairs to the house. It's nice and cool and dark in the ivy...just what a chic looks for in a nest!

A full sized medium brown egg! Good girl Reba!

This is Reba's egg next to a store bought egg! Won't be buying those any more!

Look at that bright school bus yellow! I couldn't have asked for better color from Crayola!

We scrambled it up and all took a bite! It was quite a thing around here, we've put in alot of work and time into this process and it felt good reaping what we'd sewn! I love the natural simbiotic relationship that is occuring! It also shows the kids that if you are patient caring and nurturing you get rewarded...but right now they are thinking one thing...BREAKFAST!

Ali and Tilda

I couldn't resist posting these...Aliza said to me "Momma, we're lucky to have the softest dog ever aren't we?" Yes, Ali, we are very lucky!

Matilda is very lucky to have such a sweet little girl to love on her too!

Around the yard...

There's so much life in the landscape of Narleevillee! Between the pets and the gardens there is always something to catch your eye! We've got birds, bats, chics, bees, and hummingbirds...veggies, flowers, eggs, and kids! Life is all over, being nourished and flourishing!
]Recently I was up before the sun and took the opportunity of the quiet to get a pic of the sunflowers in the front of our house. They are over 16 ft. tall!

I have plenty of Glory in the mornings with all the morning glories I planted this year. Do you see the heart in this pic.?

The pink morning glories are on the front fence of the house...my first pinks!

This is a Golden Finch and it eats Sunflowers every day! It's the brightest gold color I've ever seen in a bird...I feel lucky to have him around!

I've never grown pumpkins before and didn't really expect to get any at all...but low and behold, Narleeville's magic capticated these seeds and it will be happy carving some Oct.!

Pop and Boone

During Gramma and Pop's most recent visit, Pop and Boone shared some

quality guy time in the yard.

Tossing the football was a blast for both of them!

Then they had a nice relaxing break with some talk about life!

It's great to have such an awesome male role model for my children. Pop's always patient and ready to play whatever the kids are into. He's quick to lend his ear to Izaak's teen wims and woes too! if only we lived in the same sate...or zip code!

Chickens, Chickens Everywhere...

here's the artwork my mom and I painted on the coop....
my sister says the chics body is egg shaped...I'm cool with that!

Blueberry breakfast!

chicken feet are neet!

A Hodge Podge...

I had to share a pic of this! My new chicken purse! You know you want one!
A Dahlia from some spring planted bulbs! Pretty!

Camilla - aka - Head Hen! She's a Barred Rock Hen and will step to you like she wants to fight...hillarious!

Blurry but a Golden Finch on my 15 ft. tall Sunflowers in the front yard!
That's all for now folks!

Tuna Loves Birthdays Too!

After Kaleb unwrapped his gifts Tuna was quick to get into the pile of wrappings! This was just too cute not to share!

Happy 9th Birthday Kaleb David!

Kaleb's 9th birthday was a very anticipated event in Narleeville. Much was discussed about what to do and how to celebrate it appropriately. It was decided that his actual birthday would be spent at home (it was a Wednesday) and that Sat. he would go with his Dad, Izaak, and friend Bradley to Six Flags for some crazy fun! Aliza and Izaak made Kaleb very nice birthday cards and he was so happy to receive them!

He got a couple Horror movies and a video game that he wanted very bad!

I don't know who was happier for cake, the birthday boy or his chocolate loving little sister!

Happy 9th Birthday Kaleb David! You are growing into a very sweet and loving young man! I'm very proud of your heart and we love you an extra super power lot!

Family Time!

Some Daddy daughter time...sweet!

My sassy Chic lovin' me!

Luke and I...love.

Anne came for a visit with Madison and Seth! The kids had a great time playing together!

Look at those smiles!

A little glory in my mornings!

This morning glory is a new plant in the yard, and I'm being rewarded gleefully for planting it!
Stunning isn't it!?

Narleeville Clucks

Here is the inside of the coop. These are their nesting boxes, the eggs in them are there so they know where to lay thier own... yeah chicken psychology!

This is the side view in the woods.
This is the view from the left, this is their big picture window!

The front of the coop with their ladder for you to see!

Here are updated pics of the coop. Sorry there aren't any of the chooks on here, but I was busy with carrots and they were in the front garden gorging on bugs. There will be a few additions to the coop but this is the main structure. I'm going to add some chicken art work and the Coop name above the door. "Narleeville Clucks" is the official title of the coop. I'll give you chix later.

Today was Harvest Day...

And the Angel of the Lord came unto me
snatching me from my slumber
and took me on high and higher still,
Until we moved to the spaces betwixt air itself
And he brought me unto the farmlands of our own midwest
And as we decsended cries from the impending doom rose from the soil
One thousand, nay, one million voices full of fear
And terror possessed me then
And I begged "Angel of the Lord what are these tortured screams?!"
And the Angel said unto me
"These are the cries of the Carrots, the creis of the carrots!"
"You see Reverend Narlee, tomorrow is harvest day,
and to them it is the Holocaust."- Maynard James Keenan (Tool)

These are my heirloom, organic, multi-colored carrots! Full of life and nutrition!
Beautiful aren't they!

Explanation of Benefits...

or lack there of. I've been having serious camera difficulty...a sad event in Narleeville. I can't even get Kaleb's birthday photos off of my camera! Argh...so that is the delay, please stay tuned to the same bat channel! What I can get to will follow!
